Job Title : Nurse Educator Profession : Nursing Specialty : Education Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Days Hours per Shift : 8 Experience : Minimum three (3) years as a health care practitioner or nurse or related field License : Current state licensure as a registered professional nurse Certifications : BCLS Instructor Certified Must-Have : - Teach classes / courses using the theories of adult education. - Maintain health care expertise and knowledge of best-in-class practices. - Ability to fully utilize electronic health record systems, equipment, and other healthcare systems relevant to this position. - Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, and walking throughout the working day. - Position will be required to stoop, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds. Description : Responsible for the orientation and education of staff. Facilitates the continuing education of employees related to general healthcare. Implements educational programs and projects. Assists nursing leadership in identifying learning needs. Designs programs, courses, and learning experiences to address these needs. Participates in Quality Assurance activities of the department. Collaborates in identifying and addressing educational issues. Assists nursing administrative and leadership staff in maintaining healthcare standards. Plans and implements classes and appropriate learning activities for clinical staff. Researches best-in-class practices and develops training programs. Communicates changes to improve healthcare practices. Evaluates and redesigns educational programs based on evaluations and critiques. Reviews and recommends books and software to supplement educational programs. Performs other duties as assigned.
