About the Role

WeTheHobby, one of the fastest-growing names in the sports collectibles and entertainment space, is looking for a Social Media Specialist to join our dynamic team. This is an entry-level, hands‑on creative role focused on producing and editing a high volume of content for our social platforms.

If you live and breathe sports, social media, and trends and you’re ready to capture big moments, edit them fast, and keep our audience engaged this role is for you. You’ll work closely with our marketing and creative teams to bring WeTheHobby’s energy to life through short‑form videos, graphics, photos, and more.

This role is based out of our innovative headquarters in The Neighborhood of the Arts / Village Gate, Rochester, NY.

What You’ll Do :

Create, shoot, and edit daily content for platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and X.

Transform live show moments, behind‑the‑scenes clips, and trending topics into shareable content.

Work closely with the marketing and production teams to ensure all creative aligns with WeTheHobby’s brand tone and voice.

Use tools like Adobe Premiere, Canva, or CapCut to edit short‑form videos and social assets.

Stay on top of pop culture, sports, and social trends to keep our content fresh and relevant.

Help organize and tag footage to maintain an efficient content library.

Contribute ideas for new content series, campaigns, and creative concepts.

Participate in shoots and live events as part of the on‑site content team.

Who You Are :

A creative storyteller who’s passionate about social media, sports, and digital culture.

Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects) or similar platforms (CapCut, Final Cut, etc.).

Comfortable shooting content on professional cameras and mobile devices.

Understands what makes content perform on TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to move fast and meet deadlines.

A self‑starter with a collaborative attitude and eagerness to learn.

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Media, Film, or related field preferred — or equivalent hands‑on experience.

In accordance with applicable Federal and State laws, the anticipated annual salary range for this position, based upon location in Rochester, NY, and experience, is $64,000-$74,000.

To comply with Federal law, WeTheHobby participates in E-Verify. All newly‑hired employees are verified through this electronic system established by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Social Security Administration (SSA) to confirm their identity and employment eligibility.
