General Summary :

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting team and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. This role plays a key part in managing close processes, maintaining internal controls, and supporting cross-functional initiatives. The Accounting Manager reports directly to the Director of Accounting and serves as a critical partner in driving operational efficiency and compliance across the organization.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities :

Manage the accounting team's daily operations, including supervising staff and senior accountants to ensure timely completion of reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting

Review and approve financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards

Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions to ensure smooth operation

Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of trial balances and consolidated financial statements

Ensure all necessary accruals, deferrals, and adjusting entries are recorded

Maintain detailed checklists to track the progress of closing tasks

Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance

Partner with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Operations, IT, and HR to support budgeting and forecasting with accurate accounting data

Ensure seamless integration of accounting systems with operational workflows

Train and develop team members by identifying growth opportunities and providing regular feedback

Drive continuous improvement by streamlining processes, automating tasks, and enhancing system capabilities

Essential Job Qualifications :

• Bachelors Degree required and MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience and 2+ years of training experience and skill development of other team members.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Effectively delegate tasks while maintaining oversight of overall team performance.

Ensure all financial reports are accurate, timely, and comply with applicable accounting standards.

Proactively address operational inefficiencies or bottlenecks within the department.

Exhibit strong leadership and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.

Communicate key accounting insights to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner. Demonstrated mastery in all MS Office programs.
