Material Handler - $17 / HR

Job Description Job Description Job Title : Material Handler Job Description We are seeking an experienced Material Handler to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring proper coil preparation and handling throughout the batch, monorail, and crating processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in material handling and a proven track record of reliability and tenure in similar roles. Responsibilities Follow published work instructions, quality procedures, and safety protocols. Open and close crates or containers containing coils or other customer products. Inspect coils for damage and ensure compliance with quality standards. Attach identifying tags or labels to coils or mark information on crates, pallets, or containers. Read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine coils or containers to be moved, hung, or crated. Secure or remove lifting attachments as needed. Lift coils by hand to load or unload load / basket bars or monorail hang points. Clean work area and equipment as instructed. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills & Qualifications Proven material handling experience with strong tenure in previous roles. Inventory management and packing expertise. General labor skills including loading and packaging. Safety awareness and ability to follow detailed instructions. Experience with overhead crane operation and rigging. High School diploma or GED required. Preferably 3-9 months of related experience and / or training. Ability to read and understand safety instructions, work instructions, and company policies. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. Additional Skills Effective communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00 / hr.
