Director Of Nursing Skilled Nursing Facility

The Director Of Nursing (DON) Is Responsible For The Overall Leadership And Management Of The Nursing Department In A Skilled Nursing Facility. This Role Ensures The Delivery Of High-Quality Resident Care, Regulatory Compliance, And The Development Of A Strong Clinical Team. The DON Collaborates With Interdisciplinary Teams To Promote Resident Well-Being And Operational Excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Direct And Oversee Daily Operations Of The Nursing Department, Including Staffing, Scheduling, And Supervision.

Ensure Compliance With Federal, State, And Local Regulations, Including CMS And State Health Departments.

Develop, Implement, And Monitor Nursing Policies, Procedures, And Quality Improvement Initiatives.

Evaluate Resident Care Plans And Outcomes To Ensure Safety, Effectiveness, And Satisfaction.

Recruit, Train, And Retain Qualified Nursing Staff; Conduct Performance Evaluations And Manage Disciplinary Actions.

Coordinate Care With Physicians, Therapists, Social Workers, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

Manage Infection Control, Medication Administration, And Clinical Documentation.

Participate In Budget Planning And Resource Allocation For Nursing Services.

Serve As A Point Of Contact For Residents And Families Regarding Clinical Concerns And Care Coordination.

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) License In The State Of New Jersey.

Bachelor Of Science In Nursing (BSN) Required; Master's Degree Preferred.

Minimum Of 35 Years Of Nursing Leadership Experience In Long-Term Care Or Skilled Nursing.

Strong Knowledge Of Nursing Home Regulations And Standards Of Care.

Excellent Leadership, Communication, And Organizational Skills.

Proficiency In Electronic Medical Records (EMR) And Clinical Documentation Systems.
