Key Responsibilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor or higher-level management.
Minimum Requirements
Graduation from a Respiratory Therapy program accredited by the American Medical Association or a recognized authority OR eligibility for South Carolina licensure OR enrollment as a senior student graduating within three months.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina OR eligibility for licensure OR enrollment as a graduating senior. BLS certification is required, and NBRC credentials must be maintained. Employees hired prior to June 2016 may hold a Certified Respiratory Therapist credential.
Since June 2016, all new hires must pass the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam at the Registered Therapist cut score and complete the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation; failure to do so will result in termination.
NRP and PALS certification is required before working independently in the NICU and PICU.
Additional Skills and Experience
Ability to work well in a team environment, with strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
