Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our podiatry care team. The RN will play a key role in supporting and providing care under the direction of a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) in the delivery of exceptional patient care focused on lower extremity health. This position involves direct patient interaction, clinical procedures, wound and post-operative care, and patient education to promote healing and prevent complications.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient setting with a focus on wound care, neuropathy management, post-operative recovery, and general podiatric conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM).
Assist with and perform clinical procedures including wound care, dressing changes, and neurovascular assessments.
Support post-operative patients with dressing changes, suture / staple removal, and ongoing education for proper recovery.
Obtain patient histories, vital signs, and prepare patients for examination or treatment.
Administer medications and injections as directed, consistent with scope of practice and physician orders.
Educate patients on wound management, foot health, diabetes-related foot care, and preventive strategies.
Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure seamless coordination of care and optimal patient outcomes.
Accurately document all patient encounters, treatments, and communications in the electronic health record (EHR).
Maintain infection control standards and assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Licensure
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
Active RN license in the state of Utah.
Current BLS certification preferred.
Experience
Skills & Attributes
Strong patient care, communication, and teaching skills.
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EHR systems).
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
