Position Summary:

Oklahoma City University is seeking a detail-driven, student-centered Loan Manager to play a critical role in helping students and families navigate the financial aid process with confidence. This position is ideal for a financial aid professional who enjoys combining compliance, systems expertise, and meaningful student interaction to make higher education accessible.

As the Loan Manager, you'll serve as OCU's primary expert on federal and private student loans, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and clear communication throughout the student loan lifecycle-from origination through repayment and default prevention.

This position may be eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement in Oklahoma (outside of the metro area) or Texas, based on operational needs, candidate location, and sustained satisfactory performance, in accordance with division policy.

What You'll Do

• Serve as the university's lead administrator for federal and private student loan programs
• Process and reconcile Direct Loans and private loans using Banner, COD, ELM, and EDConnect
• Ensure timely and accurate loan originations, disbursements, and returns
• Act as the primary institutional contact with the U.S. Department of Education
• Lead entrance and exit counseling and support borrowers throughout repayment
• Develop and maintain a default prevention and borrower communication strategy
• Partner closely with Admissions, Registrar, and Student Account Services to resolve student concerns
• Support recruitment and outreach events by helping students understand financial aid options
• Contribute to continuous improvement by testing Banner updates and monitoring regulatory changes

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in Financial Aid, Student Accounts, or a related higher education area
• Including at least 1 year of direct loan processing experience
• Strong working knowledge of federal student loan regulations
• Experience with Banner strongly preferred
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced, student-facing environment
• Professional judgment and discretion when handling confidential information
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to student service
