A company is looking for a Database Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs in a remote role.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL database environments for high availability and performance

Design and maintain database architecture, manage legacy databases, and implement backup and recovery strategies

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and troubleshoot database solutions

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience

Minimum of five years of experience in database administration for enterprise or cloud-based environments

Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server administration and optimization

Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure for database deployment and management

Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and scripting in Python or similar languages
