Security Officer - Education Lobby Desk

As a Security Officer - Education Lobby Desk in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Front Desk Security Professional with Allied Universal in an educational environment, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, students, and staff, providing a welcoming and helpful presence. Your role will focus on greeting guests, managing access control, and assisting with security-related inquiries to help create a secure learning atmosphere. You will use your communication and customer service skills to support the needs of the location while upholding the company values of teamwork, reliability, and integrity. Pay Rate : $17.55 / Hour

  • Mon 03 : 00 PM - 11 : 00 PM
  • Tue 11 : 00 PM - 07 : 00 AM

  • Sat 03 : 00 PM - 11 : 00 PM
  • Sun 03 : 00 PM - 11 : 00 PM

    • What You'll Do :

  • Welcome visitors, students, and staff to the location while providing courteous customer service and responding to inquiries at the front desk.
  • Monitor access to the building by verifying identification, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining visitor logs as required.
  • Follow site-specific policies and procedures to help deter unauthorized entry and respond to security-related concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the front desk in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating when appropriate.
  • Communicate promptly with Allied Universal management and / or client representatives regarding security-related matters at the front desk.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed, including notifying appropriate personnel and following established protocols.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing Allied Universal at the front desk.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR and / or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
