Description :
Position / Specialty : Registered Nurse / IMC / IICU (Intermediate Intensive Care)
Required experience includes 2 years as an RN and completion of at least 1 travel assignment.
Prior IICU / ICU experience with a patient acuity ratio of at least 1 : 3 is mandatory.
Weekend shifts requirement is 6 weekend shifts over a 6-week schedule period.
All requests for time off, block scheduling, and special requests must be included during submission.
The facility reserves the right to call off 1 shift every 2 weeks.
First-time travelers are accepted, but 3 years of experience within the specialty is required.
Critical care experience is necessary.
No pending licenses will be accepted.
Patient population includes adults undergoing trauma, medical, surgical, and neurology cases requiring monitoring or interventions every 1 to 2 hours.
The unit accommodates direct admissions, ICU transfers, and escalations from Rapid Response Teams.
Familiarity with equipment, including patient re-positioners, ceiling lifts, and Airtaps, is important.
Clinicians must be proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring.
Experience in ICU or IICU settings is also required.
Medication management skills should include titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
Ventilator management experience is mandatory.
Agency staff may be required to float to other units or campuses as necessary, limited to areas where qualifications are met.
Experience with electronic medical record systems is required.
The facility is a community teaching medical center featuring several advanced specialty programs.
It is recognized for nursing excellence and offers a variety of medical and surgical services.
Interdisciplinary support includes teams from various fields such as physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
Patients will primarily experience trauma, medical, surgical, and neurological conditions requiring close monitoring.
Direct admissions and escalations of care will be frequent.
Special equipment and services, including IV teams and social services, will be available.
Candidates must demonstrate competencies relevant to the unit they are assigned to.
Travelers are expected to complete required modules and testing prior to the start of the contract.
Verification of these hours will occur at the start of the contract.
Staff floating to other units will only perform tasks for which they have documented competencies.
Modules are billable and up to a set number of hours.
Completion of annually required training will be recorded in transcripts.
