Job Responsibilities
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments and procedures, and document actions in accordance with company policy and regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patients' conditions effectively.
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patient needs and responses to care.
- Apply sound nursing judgment in all patient care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer medications as prescribed, including over-the-counter and prescription medications.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to develop individualized Plans of Care for all patients.
- Lead and guide ancillary staff while maintaining high standards of professional nursing practice.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited nursing program resulting in a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.Current NYS Registered Nurse license is required.Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained and maintained.1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care is preferred.Strong communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills are essential.Knowledge of quality concepts and problem-solving techniques, with demonstrated ability to apply these in a nursing context to enhance patient care quality.Thank you for considering a career at Albany Medical Center!
