Job Title: REMS Clinical Nurse EducatorJob DescriptionThe Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) Clinical Nurse Educator plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality patient care and counseling to those enrolled in the Medication Therapy Program. The ideal candidate is passionate, possesses excellent communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, and is self-motivated to support team members in achieving the mission of providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities- Counsel and educate patients on REMS FDA-mandated medications, including reading statements to patients verbatim.
- Ensure patients and caregivers are educated about their current therapy, medication adherence, and handle medication refill deliveries and copay collections as applicable.
- Maintain adherence to contracted and accrediting regulations as specified by drug specifications.
- Complete thorough and accurate documentation following good documentation practices and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Discuss potential or current side effects with patients to educate them about treatment alternatives and facilitate ongoing therapy adherence.
- Identify and report adverse events and product complaints to the manufacturer, FDA, and other governing authorities.
- Verify specialty drugs and educate patients; act as a conduit between providers and patients to support therapeutic longevity.
- Maintain patient demographic records, medical history, and records according to federal HIPAA standards.
- Collaborate with Pharmacy Support teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of specialty drugs.
Essential Skills- Registered Nurse with a current unrestricted compact state license or primary NC licensure.
- Associates, Bachelor, or higher degree in Nursing or accredited nursing diploma.
- Ability to obtain licensing in all states and United States territories serviced within 3 months of employment.
- 5 or more years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in inpatient or outpatient care preferred.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including email, word processing, spreadsheet, and web-based programs.
- Effective communication skills both orally and in writing, with experience in motivational interviewing preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret practice standards, professional journals, and technical procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience in oncology nursing is advantageous.
- Skills in risk evaluation and mitigation strategies are desirable.
- Proficiency in computer data entry and phone etiquette.
Work EnvironmentAfter the training period, the role will involve working two days in the office and three days from home, contingent on meeting metrics. The team works remotely, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
