Quality Assurance Manager

Lead global cross-functional quality initiatives in Product Development by ensuring alignment with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) best practices; provide oversight in the application of Design Quality Assurance methods, lead enterprise-wide quality assurance initiatives an projects; set and track product performance quality metrics across lifetime cycle (Design to Customer Quality) and ensure compliance with best-in-class systemic corrective actions methodologies. This role will staff, train, and provide technical guidance Quality Assurance engineers embedded in new product development teams aligned to Line of Businesses. This role will be responsible preparing product quality assurance plan during the development cycle, monitor and oversight for completion and feedback field quality data back into the process. This will include software, firmware, connectivity, and mechanical / electrical systems for consumer and automotive products
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional quality initiatives in New Product Development by ensuring alignment with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) best practices; lead enterprise-wide APQP initiatives; set and track performance quality metrics
- Effectively communicate within all levels of the organization around concepts of design controls, design verification and validation activities; production & process controls; Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA), field customer complaints & risk management
- Participate and provide feedback to product development and qualification protocols : CXD, PRD, Design Reviews, Peer Reviews, Validation Tests and Product Launch activities.
- Lead an organization of engineers, technicians and developers providing guidance and oversight of the product quality assurance process.
- Establish effective working relationships with other business members, technical staff, and subject matter experts to help create and execute QA roadmap and strategy
- Lead organizational capabilities, alignment and core competencies on APQP standards and methodologies; ensure appropriate training across the organization
- Lead global compliance with APQP standards and Design Quality Assurance methodologies at contract manufacturers and key suppliers through processes such as Early Supplier Involvement Review
- Develop and refine processes for follow up on production issues with global OEM customers to maintain Tier 1 supplier status
- Work with other functional groups to develop measures and key performance indicators of design quality and process effectiveness including benchmarking other organizations; lead continuous improvement
- Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams.
- Protect Chamberlain Group's reputation by keeping information confidential.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.
- Motivate and lead a high performance team by attracting, developing, engaging and retaining team members
- Drive the performance management and compensation processes by communicating job expectations, monitoring and evaluating performance, providing feedback and facilitating employee development per the company's policies
- Maintain transparent communication by appropriately communicating organization information to team through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, appropriate email, IM and regular interpersonal communications
- Lead and motivate individuals and teams to create a workplace culture that is consistent with the CG mission, vision and values.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related fieldSix Sigma or Lean training CertificationExperience
7+ years of experience in product quality, product design and Quality Assurance and APQP methodologies.Experience Power BI and other data analytics software that can turn data from different sources into interactive insights.Experience with JIRA and other collaborative / agile project tracking tools.Experience leading and implementing change.Experience performing internal audits and participating in external audits.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of product development practices involving Software, Firmware, Electrical and Mechanical elements.Knowledge of Statistical analysis, risk assessment tools and QA sampling methodologies.Practical knowledge on APQP core tools and Six Sigma principles.Practical knowledge on risk assessment and mitigation strategies.Ability to work in a matrix environment.Enjoys working in the technology field and has a good general understanding of how technology works in various areasGood communication skills and highly self-motivatedCapable of multitasking and prioritization in a fast-paced environment, effectively and efficientlyPreferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferablePractical knowledge of software / firmware development and familiarity with firmware development Lifecycle in consumer connected productsExperience testing and Quality assurance models for Software / Firmware development.The pay range for this position is $123,600.00 - $216,150.00; base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and / or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
