Client Service Representative – Veterinary Receptionist

Shore Haven Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full-time Client Service Representative (CSR) to join our team in East Haven, CT .

CSRs are valuable members of our veterinary team, and we treat them as such. As a CSR, you will be the client’s first and last impression of our hospital. It’s important that all clients feel welcome, safe, and comfortable, which is why it takes a special person who can engage with both humans and animals alike with compassion, patience and understanding. The primary responsibility of a CSR is to be efficient in front desk operations while effectively bridging communication between pet owners and our veterinary team.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

• Deliver exceptional customer service to pet owners in a polite and timely manner, both in person and over the phone
• Schedule and confirm appointments, record keeping and organization, provide estimates and invoices for payment
• Respond with compassion and empathy in stressful and emotional situations
• Maintain a clean, stocked and orderly lobby and front office area
• Educate clients on wellness plans, pet insurance, food and products sold in waiting room
• Perform opening and closing procedures, end-of-day reports and deposits
• Data entry : records, client questionnaires, referral information, etc.
• Ensure that referral letters and lab results go to the corresponding veterinarians
• Admit patient : ensure that patient is weighed and all information is current
