Title : Practicum Program Coordinator / Business Instructor (10 Month Faculty Role | SY26-27)
Reporting Relationships :
Reports to the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction and the Principal. Collaborates closely with students, parents, mentors, and community partners.
Overview :
Resurrection College Prep High School is seeking a mission-driven, student-centered professional to serve as the Practicum Program Coordinator and Business Instructor for the 2026–2027 school year. This dual-role position offers the opportunity to lead an innovative career exploration program while teaching foundational business curriculum.
This role is both instructional and programmatic in nature, requiring strong systems-thinking, relationship-building, and a commitment to preparing young women for college, career, and vocation. This position plays a central part in preparing young women to navigate professional spaces with confidence, purpose, and ethical leadership.
About the Practicum Program :
The Practicum Job Shadowing Program provides juniors and seniors with real-world field experiences that introduce them to the personal and professional skills needed for future career success. Through field placements, personal interest assessments, and reflective writing, students deepen their understanding of their own goals, talents, and interests as they prepare for college and career.
The Practicum Program is a cornerstone of Resurrection's commitment to career readiness, leadership development, and community partnership. It is a multi-cohort program with multiple placements across diverse industries. This role may evolve over time to include expanded leadership of career pathways, partnerships, or experiential learning initiatives.
Summary of Responsibilities :
Instructional Duties :
- Teach the Practicum course and the Introduction to Business (semester course).
- Prepare students for professional settings by building workplace readiness skills.
- Provide instruction that aligns with college and career competencies.
- Design performance-based assessments that integrate real-world practicum experiences and reflective learning.
- Use student reflection and placement feedback to inform instructional planning and continuous program improvement.
Program Coordination :
Coordinate field placements for approximately 16-20 students per cohort, resulting in student placements across a variety of industries.Facilitate communication between students and mentors; ensure all pre-placement requirements are completed.Develop and distribute mentor resources; support mentors throughout the student experience.Maintain and expand a robust mentor database and community partnerships.Oversee program logistics, schedules, and budget.Evaluate and refine program effectiveness based on student outcomes and feedback.Coordinate placements for high school students per academic year, with some students requiring multiple placements in a variety of fields / careers.Facilitate the placement process by sending mentors and students proposed placement schedules and making changes to schedules as requested.Prepare, organize, and distribute informational material to mentors. Maintain a database of mentors and their contact information.Expand the mentor database by forming dynamic partnerships.Maintain Practicum budget and purchasing.Stakeholder Engagement :
Foster relationships with mentors, parents, alumnae, and community partners to enrich the program experience.Communicate consistently with stakeholders to ensure student progress and placement success.Support current students through regular check-ins and individualized guidance.Serve as a liaison between the school and community partners to strengthen long-term partnerships.Qualifications :
Education & Licensure :
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution required.Active Illinois Professional Educator License preferred; alternate pathways may be considered with administrative approval.Experience :
Preferred minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a high school setting.Strong understanding of curriculum development, particularly in business education and career readiness.Experience with the Understanding by Design framework and differentiated instruction preferred.Demonstrated success in partnership-building and community engagement.Experience managing complex programs, logistics, and multi-stakeholder initiatives preferred.Professional Dispositions :
