Position Description : Production Supervisor Metal Fabrication

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented 1st Shift Supervisor to lead our Metal Fabrication operations. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily production activities ensuring safety quality and efficiency standards are met and driving continuous improvement across the department.

Requirements

Primary Duties :

  • Lead and supervise the 1st shift team in metal fabrication to meet daily production targets.
  • Manage staffing training and development of team members; foster a culture of accountability safety and collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols quality standards and production procedures.
  • Monitor workflow identify and resolve bottlenecks and coordinate with maintenance to address equipment issues.
  • Review production schedules and adjust resources to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations manage attendance and participate in hiring and disciplinary processes in partnership with HR.
  • Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment in accordance with 5S and OSHA standards.
  • Ensure all products meet customer specifications and internal quality benchmarks.
  • Provide timely and accurate production reports to leadership to support operational decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering Purchasing Shipping and Sales to ensure seamless operations.

    • Experience & Skills :

  • Proven experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing supervision.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes including cutting bending welding and assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints 2D drawings and 3D models.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing continuous improvement and quality assurance practices.
  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across departments.
  • Decisive problem-solver with the ability to quickly assess situations and implement solutions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet production and shipping deadlines.
  • Proficient in using production tracking systems and reporting tools.

    • Education :

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering Chemical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
  • OR 5 years in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment with 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with ERP systems and production scheduling tools.
