We are looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team in one of todays most exciting technologies. This role will report to Northeast Region Field Service Manager and Remote / Field Office in Connecticut.
Role and Responsibilities :
- Provide fuel cell service during field visit dispatches
- Operate a service vehicle safely
- Create daily workflows for oneself from a list of scheduled tasks ( regularly assigned to work autonomously )
- Manage on-site preventative maintenance repair test and diagnostic tasks
- Follow company procedures and protocols
- Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine / implement proper solutions
- Cooperate with a technical team and share information across the organization
- Comprehend and follow customer access requirements
- Maintain service vehicle and spare part inventory
- Maintain / build positive relationships with customers
- Produce timely and detailed service reports as required
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Required to reside within the Service District
- Training : Two initial training sessions of up to four weeks each in San Jose CA
Education and Experience :
The following MINIMUM levels of experience and or education are required :
High school diploma & 6 years experience in electrical process controls or electro-mechanical fields;OrTechnical diploma Journeymen Certification Electrician Certification in a technical field and relevant industry experience of 4 years (electrician electronics technician field service technician test engineer etc.)Or5 years or more relevant experience in commercial electrical combined with electrical-related military experience (eg. Navy Nuclear Electronics / Electrical Technician or other technical position military certified electrician or technician Gas Turbine Electrician)Skills and Experience :
Strong electrical troubleshooting / diagnostic skills requiredFamiliar with safety standards especially those related to electrical work (OSHA & NFPA 70E)Prior experience as an electrician or electrical technician working with any of the following technologies : three-phase systems uninterruptible power supplies electrical generation and distribution systems power electronics automatic transfer switches and microprocessor based control platformsExperience with various electrical / electronic test and measurement equipmentAble to read and interpret electrical single line diagrams and blueprintsExperience with performing equipment maintenance in accordance with ANSI / NETA standards for Electrical PowerMechanical system aptitude to include troubleshooting / repair skillsHighly motivated and able to work autonomouslyDemonstrates sound judgment in the resolution of complex problemsTeam player who exhibits a high level of integrity and professionalismCommunicates written and verbal English effectivelyAble to execute against written and verbal procedures and sequenced work instructionsAble to regularly handle equipment up to 50lbs. occasionally maylift up to 70 lbs.Able to reach squat bend and twist during the work dayAble to use a ladder or stepstool regularlyAble to facilitate 24X7 on-call dutyAble to facilitate shift work as neededAble to regularly work alternative schedules (one week / month of Wednesday-Sunday for example)Able to regularly support overtime to achieve quarterly goalsAble to regularly travel (drive) throughout a large Service District (e.g. Connecticut and Upstate New York District)Able to travel occasionally to other US and international destinationsAble to maintain a driving record in good standingAble to work at height while following all safety training and procedures.Bloom Energy is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
