Experience in collecting, cleaning, and managing spatial and non-spatial data. Ability to model geographic patterns and interpret spatial relationships. Ability to solve complex geographic problems through data interpretation. Precision in handling data and creating accurate maps. Capable of identifying issues and developing solutions independently and collaboratively. Clear and effective communication of technical concepts to diverse audiences. Strong interpersonal skills to work across disciplines. Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records under pressure. 2+ years of experience in GIS roles, preferably in utility or telecom sectors. Familiarity with fiber plant or outside plant mapping is highly desirable. GISP (GIS Professional) Esri Technical Certification Other relevant GIS or data management certifications Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

We are seeking a skilled GIS professional for a 12-month position supporting an Endurance client, with a focus on outside plant mapping—particularly within utility or carrier projects. The ideal candidate will assist in the planning and implementation of a fiber plant installation, leveraging GIS tools and spatial data to ensure accurate and efficient mapping. Candidates with broader utility-related GIS experience are also encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed maps of fiber plant installations using GIS software.
- Interpret and analyze spatial data to support project planning and execution.
- Collaborate with engineering and field teams to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Automate data workflows and manage large datasets using Python and SQL.
- Present findings and visualizations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Maintain organized records and documentation of mapping activities.
