Conduct UI performance optimization and cross-browser compatibility enhancements. Ensure all interfaces meet WCAG accessibility standards. Participate in Agile ceremonies, collaborate with UAT teams, and contribute to continuous improvement. Strong understanding of human-centered design principles. Experience working on modernization of legacy systems. Familiarity with DevOps practices (Git, CI / CD pipelines). Experience working in Agile environments.

Position Summary
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) Child Support Services is seeking an experienced Senior UI / UX Developer to support ongoing modernization efforts. This project involves transforming a legacy mainframe Child Support system into a modern, user friendly, web based platform that integrates with the existing application.
This role is ideal for someone who excels in human centered design, front-end development, and applying AI-enhanced tools for optimizing user experience. You will lead UI / UX strategy-from wireframes and prototypes to building production-ready interfaces-while ensuring accessibility (WCAG) and high performance.
