American Consultants is seeking a travel nurse RN Oncology for a travel nursing job in Overland Park, Kansas.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse to join our team for a 13-week contract assignment. The ideal candidate is compassionate, clinically skilled, and comfortable caring for oncology patients within a fast-paced Med / Surg environment.

Assignment Length : 13 weeks

Specialty : MS Oncology / ratio of 4-5 patients to 1 RN.

Shift : 3x12's / 36 hours a week / Nights 7p-7a

Experience Required : Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg experience

Certs : American Heart ACLS and BLS, PALS and NIHHS are required.

Will accept locals- Rate is $60.00 an hour

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult oncology and med / surg patients
  • Administer chemotherapy (if applicable) and manage central lines
  • Monitor patient conditions and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Adhere to facility policies, safety guidelines, and infection prevention standards

    • Qualifications

  • Active RN license (state-specific or compact)
  • Minimum 2 years of Med / Surg experience (Oncology experience preferred)
  • BLS required; ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
  • Chemo certification is a plus
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills
