The successful Chief Nursing Officer (CNO Skilled Nursing Setting) will have a proven track record of clinical excellence, operational leadership, and staff development within a skilled nursing environment.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic nursing plans that align with the facility’s mission, vision, and long-term goals. Collaborate with executive leadership on organizational strategy.
- Clinical Operations: Oversee all nursing operations, ensuring the delivery of evidence-based, compassionate, and dignified care that meets or exceeds federal and state regulatory standards.
- Quality and Compliance: Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, satisfaction, and safety. Monitor performance metrics and ensure strict adherence to all accreditation and regulatory requirements.
- Team Development: Provide visionary leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for all nursing staff. Foster a culture of teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with other department heads to ensure seamless communication and coordination of resident care.
- Resident Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for residents and their families, addressing concerns and ensuring a positive experience for all.
Qualifications
- Education: Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or a related field.
- Licensure: Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
- Experience: A minimum of [5-10] years of progressive nursing leadership experience, with significant time spent as a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO Skilled Nursing Setting) or a similar senior role.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of clinical operations, quality improvement methodologies, and relevant state and federal regulations (e.g., CMS, DOH).
- Skills: Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities. Strong analytical skills and experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
