Position Summary:
The intern's work will increase the funding capacity of the Next Steps workforce development program, enabling more clients to experience Christ-centered support, meaningful employment, and long-term independence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Foundation & Corporate Relations team in developing grant materials for the Next Steps workforce development program.
- Draft, edit, and format grant templates, narrative sections, and proposal language.
- Conduct research and prospecting to identify new funding opportunities aligned with Atlanta Mission's mission and workforce development priorities.
- Meet with Next Steps and IT staff to gather program information, outputs, outcomes, and client success stories for use in proposals.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to understand program budgeting and develop a grant-ready budget for Next Steps.
- Collect, organize, and synthesize program metrics to support grant writing and reporting.
- Assist in preparing one complete, funder-ready grant proposal as the internship's final project.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and cross-department collaborations as needed.

- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize information clearly.
- Ability to conduct research, analyze data, and translate program information into concise narratives.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Brings a healthy sense of curiosity and a willingness to ask questions, engage staff, and gather both quantitative and qualitative information to accurately describe program impact.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Demonstrated interest in social impact, homelessness, workforce development, or nonprofit work.
Physical Job Requirements:
- Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing, sitting and/or walking)
- Must have the ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 20lbs
