About the Position

LocumJobsNetwork is working with Barton Associates to find a qualified Emergency Medicine PA in New York!

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant for a 10-day locum tenens assignment in New York, starting Jan 2, 2026. This opportunity features 12-hour shifts with a mix of days and nights; flexibility to cover any assigned shift is essential. The assignment involves procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernia repair in an emergency medicine setting.

  • Schedule : 12-hour shifts (1pm-1am), mix of days and nights; coverage assigned based on hospital needs

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Perform emergency procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernia repair
  • Provide care for patients presenting with acute medical and surgical conditions
  • Adapt to variable scheduling, including day and night shifts as assigned
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in the emergency department
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and best practices

    • Additional Information

  • Emergency Medical Services board certification required
  • Must have recent emergency room experience
  • Current New York PA license required
  • Flexibility in scheduling is non-negotiable
