Join our team as a Construction Engineering Inspector! Your expertise will ensure that construction projects meet the highest quality standards. We are seeking motivated candidates to monitor construction activities, conduct inspections, and perform material testing.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Oversee contractor's construction activities and ensure adherence to project plans and specifications through diligent inspections.
- Conduct a variety of materials testing, inspections, and traffic control monitoring.
- Perform field sampling and testing of soil density, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials to confirm quality.
- Execute routine field tests in accordance with ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, GDOT, and other relevant standards.
- Maintain quality assurance throughout the construction process.
- Inspect contractor's traffic control measures during construction projects.
- Adhere to scheduling and attendance requirements consistently.
- Interpret schematic drawings for locating and recording sampling / testing sites.
- Understand construction documents and specifications prepared in accordance with GDOT standards.
Education / Experience :
High School Diploma or a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in CEI, field inspections, materials testing, and traffic inspections.Proven experience with interstate transportation projects in urban settings.Knowledge of MUTCD and GDOT Design Guidelines and Standards is preferred.Ability to comprehend traffic control plans including traffic shifts, detours, lane closures, and other traffic flow disruptions.Understanding of the properties and characteristics of construction materials.ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician I and GDOT Concrete Certification are preferred, along with Portable Nuclear Gauge user certification and RTT certification.Experience in concrete and pavement testing.A valid driver's license and eligibility for insurance coverage is required.Physical Requirements :
Physically agile and able to navigate construction sites and outdoor field assignments.Capability to carry necessary instruments and equipment.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to perform essential job functions while meeting ADA, FMLA, and other regulatory standards.Work is performed in variable outdoor environments, including exposure to extreme heat and cold.Benefits :
