Brothers, Dr. Scott Luking , and Dr. Steve Luking , started the practice and began serving the community 30 years ago ! Dr. Steve retired a few years back and Dr. Jayce Cook , who completed his FM residency at Cone Health, joined the practice. As a team, they continue providing healthcare needs in Rockingham County and surrounding areas to patients from birth to death. Our physicians and many of our staff live locally and have a strong desire to deliver personable quality healthcare to you and your family and friends in the surrounding places we call home.

Annie Penn Hospital , located 20 miles north of Greensboro, serves Reidsville and surrounding areas with its 110 acute-care beds. Adjacent to Annie Penn Hospital is Penn Nursing Center, a 92-bed skilled facility that offers skilled and intermediate nursing care. Clinical and special services include cardiology programs, a cancer center, a surgery center, a sleep center, a rehabilitation center, and a rheumatology clinic.

Reidsville is nestled in the heart of Rockingham County, known as North Carolina's "North Star". For a small town and a rural county, there is always something to see, do, or enjoy. The addition of Market Square to the downtown landscape has brought a variety of cultural offerings to Reidsville. The park, which includes an amphitheater, not only hosts the Farmers' Market but also is the site of musical concerts and events throughout the spring and summer. Market Square is fast becoming the "hub" of Reidsville. From the rolling countryside to the quaint antique shops located downtown, Reidsville is as historically diverse as it is visually appealing. The area is rich in history, filled with historical homes as well as The Penn House and the Governor Reid House.

EDUCATION :

Required : Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from a Medical School recognized by the North Carolina Medical Board. Also medical degrees from other countries that are equivalent to the United States MD or DO degrees from a Medical School recognized by the North Carolina Medical Board.

EXPERIENCE :

Required : Completed appropriate residency training (and fellowship training as required).

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRY / LISTING :

REQUIRED

Required : Practitioner must have completed the number of years in a residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and met all other requirements for eligibility to receive board certification recognized by either the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association in the primary medical specialty (or subspecialty) for which the Practitioner is applying for Clinical Privileges. If five (5) or more years have elapsed since the Practitioner completed such residency program, the Practitioner currently must have board-certification recognized by either the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association in such specialty (or subspecialty).

Fully licensed to practice Medicine in the state of NC.

Meets requirements of the Moses Cone Health System Medical Staff by-laws and obtains the appropriate level of medical staff privileges.

The Practitioner must have a current, and valid DEA registration number, with no involuntary limitations on prescriptive authority (schedule limitations) resulting from DEA disciplinary actions.

Each Practitioner shall maintain in force professional liability insurance as determined by the Moses Cone Health System Medical Executive Committee and Board of Trustees; currently $1 million each incident and each occurrence, and $3 million aggregate. The Practitioner must provide proof of professional liability insurance coverage, with a current certificate of insurance or a current copy of the policy. The professional liability insurance coverage shall be with a company approved by the North Carolina Insurance Commission and otherwise satisfactory to the Board of Trustees.
