Position Overview
Ascension Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh is seeking an experienced NICU RN to support its
Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit . The ideal candidate will have Level II experience and
preferably Level III experience
due to the acuity and stabilization needs of the unit. Nurses should be confident attending high-risk deliveries, stabilizing neonates requiring transfer, and caring for neonatal patients from 32 weeks and older.
No call is required for this assignment.

Infants requiring stabilization prior to transfer
Short-term ventilator support (≤ 24 hours)
Required Experience
3+ years NICU nursing experience
Level III NICU experience

Attend high-risk deliveries (twins, VBACs, complicated births)
Catch babies during C-sections
Support on Unit
RT on-site 24 / 7
Neonatologist on call 24 / 7
NNP
in-house some days (24-hour shifts; expanding toward full 24 / 7 coverage)
CNA shared with L&D; acts as scrub tech during C-sections
No dedicated charge RN; charge functions shared with LDRP team
Phlebotomy not available in unit
Centralized telemetry monitoring with tele-tech support
Scheduling & Orientation
Weekend rotation : Every other weekend
