Job Title : Medical Staff Coordinator
Location : Houston, TX - 77030 (Onsite)
Duration : 3+ Months
Schedule : 8-hour shift anytime between 6am - 6pm
Duties :
In accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules & Regulations and the policies and procedures of the Medical Staff Services Department and the Hospital, coordinate administrative support and provide resources needed by and for the Medical Staff, Client’s IDs and various regulatory agencies relative to the organized medical staff and its functions.
- Proficiently coordinates and processes all aspects of credentialing and privileging activities, ensuring compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, established policies and procedures, accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, NCQA, etc.), and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory and / or accrediting agencies.
- Serves as resource to Chiefs of Service, Department Heads, Credentials Committee, Medical Executive Committee, Governing Board and Legal Department in credentialing / privileging related matters.
- Credentialing and privileging responsibilities may include any combination of the following : Initial applications, change in staff status, Preparation of correspondence, Reappointment applications, Change in service, Filing, Temporary privileges, leave of absence, Miscellaneous tasks assigned, Additional privileges, Resignations, Change in privileges, Managed Care Credentialing.
Required : QGenda Experience :
Scheduling : Create, update, and manage complex schedules for various staff (physicians, nurses, residents) using QGenda.Reporting : Generate reports and use dashboards for workforce analytics.Accurately inputting, updating, and maintaining information in databases, systems, and spreadsheets from various sources (paper, digital files), requiring high accuracy, speed, confidentiality, and strong attention to detail to support business operations, reporting, and analysis.Skills :
Knowledge of hospital functions and the organized medical staff as a self-governed entity, preferably from medical staff office experience and / or certification, and medical terminology.Knowledge of accreditation standards as applicable to credentialing and privileging preferred.Ability to skillfully organize; to communicate well, both verbally and in writing; and exhibit good interpersonal skills.Must be dedicated, reliable, self-motivated, tactful and detail oriented. Must adapt to flexible work schedules and frequent interruptions.Must maintain confidentiality at all times.Must be able to operate standard office equipment and a PC or the equivalent.Must demonstrate proficiency in use of word processing, e-mail, and spreadsheet applications in a Windows environment, as well as proficiency in use of credentialing / privileging database systems.
