Job Description

Hennepin Technical College seeks a Temporary Part Time Medical Assistant instructor dedicated to excellence in career and technical education who desires to become part of an environment that values trust integrity pride passion respect collaboration innovation continuous improvement and diversity. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to embracing quality and innovation in career and technical education workforce development and lifelong learning.

Examples of Duties :

Teach lecture and lab courses in Medical Assistant

Continuous curriculum development including the design revisions and implementation of instructional materials and assessment of learner outcomes

Integration of assessment activities into teaching practices and participation in department and college-wide assessment of student learning

Support of the success and development of students through the use of a variety of instructional methods available office hours and by providing additional resources

Development and implementation of on-campus online and hybrid courses

Contribution into department decisions on budget scheduling textbook selection etc.

Participation in discipline team campus and college matters through service on committees; attendance at regular meetings; and continued professional development

Support and advance the department and college mission through ideas and projects

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirement

Associate degree

Occupational Experience Requirement

Three full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a medical assistant.

Recency Requirement

One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Professional Requirement

Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
