Med / Surg Telemetry RN Job Details

Location : Owosso, Michigan 48867 (Mid-Michigan healthcare jobs)

Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Contract

Specialty : Med / Surg Telemetry RN (float between Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Unit - PCU)

Start Date : January 5, 2026

End Date : April 6, 2026

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM)

Hours per Week : 36 guaranteed

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

On Call : No call required

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1680 – $1800

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (required for Michigan nursing jobs)

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg RN experience

Experience floating to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) required

Proficiency with telemetry; able to read and interpret heart rhythms

Must pass a dysrhythmia test prior to working on the floor

Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA)

COVID-19 vaccination required (exemptions considered)

Submission of work history, current skills checklist (within 1 year), and 2 supervisory references with employment dates

Med / Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

Deliver patient care using the nursing process : assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Float between Med / Surg, Telemetry, and PCU units as needed

Conduct comprehensive physical, psychological, and social assessments

Develop and implement individualized care plans within 24 hours of admission

Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care skills

Monitor and interpret telemetry readings; respond promptly to changes in patient status

Maintain accurate documentation and ensure continuity of care among healthcare teams

Follow infection control policies, medication administration protocols, and safety standards

Demonstrate leadership through effective delegation, communication, and team collaboration

Participate in ongoing education and unit meetings for professional growth and quality improvement
