Job Summary

Hayden Portal is the full‑stack web application at the heart of all Hayden products. Transit agencies rely on Portal to track and manage their fleets and review critical video data. Our Sales team uses it to run customer pilots—an essential driver of our growth. Operations depends on it to deliver exceptional customer support. Enforcement agencies, such as Sheriff’s Departments and Departments of Transportation, use Portal to evaluate potential violations and ensure compliance with the law before citations are issued. We’re seeking a hands‑on Engineering Manager to lead the development of Portal—across backend systems, frontend experiences, and everything in between. You’ll guide a talented team of software engineers building this mission‑critical platform that powers Hayden’s core business.

Responsibilities

• People : Cultivate a high‑performing, motivated team; inspire top performers to go further and coach others to grow; turn company goals into clear, actionable deliverables and provide needed support.
• Execution : Design and run day‑to‑day development processes that enable the team to ship high‑quality products on a reliable schedule; blend Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall as needed; focus on unblocking work, mitigating risks, and maximizing productivity.
• Product : Shape the product by bridging team and customers; represent user needs to engineers and engineering constraints to stakeholders; collaborate closely with Product Management and Customer Success.
• Technical : Lead from the front by participating in design discussions, reviewing pull requests, and staying close to the work; set the technical tone while mentoring developers.
