Veterinary Assistant

VCA Veterinary Specialists of the Valley () is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant (VA) to complement our talented team in Woodland Hills, California. The position is in our Surgery Department , full-time, 10-hour shifts 4 days / week, with the flexibility to work at least one weekend shift.

The hourly range for this position is $24-$35 per hour . Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials.

Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years experience

Ability to navigate high paced workflow with a sense of urgency

Exceptional interpersonal skills

Able to be part of a collaborative team-oriented environment

Comfortable to ask for help & clarification when needed

Posses a high attention to detail

Able to perform skills including :

Venipuncture

Catheter placement

Radiology & CT

Anesthesia set up & monitoring

Knowledge of surgical protocols & procedures

Patient Assessment

Laboratory processing

Pharmacy

Patient recovery

Bandage and cast placement
