Quality Manager - Phoenix, AZ
Position Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring manufacturing processes and finished products consistently meet internal quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. This role leads the site's quality function, manages a small team, and partners closely with production and engineering to drive continuous improvement, reduce scrap, and improve overall process performance.
This position has three direct reports and plays a hands-on leadership role within the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and maintain the site's quality management system aligned with ISO 9000 standards
Direct, coach, and develop a team of quality professionals (3 direct reports)
Lead supplier quality initiatives, including audits, corrective actions, and performance monitoring
Partner with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve quality and process issues
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma tools
Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods to monitor and improve manufacturing performance
Analyze quality data to identify trends, root causes, and corrective actions
Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, control plans, and quality documentation
Ensure production equipment and processes meet technical and quality specifications
Train plant personnel on quality standards, procedures, and best practices
Serve as a technical liaison with third-party vendors related to quality and equipment matters
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field
5 years of experience in a quality-focused role within a manufacturing environment
Strong background in quality systems and ISO standards
Experience leading or mentoring quality teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and leadership teams
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification
Automotive or high-volume manufacturing experience
Six Sigma experience and familiarity with value stream mapping
Spanish language skills (spoken and written) a plus
Experience with quality management systems and data analysis tools
Schedule & Compensation
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Salary Range: $130,000 – $140,000 base
