Job Title : Chemical Plant Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Chemical Plant Technician to ensure the efficient operation of a specialty chemicals plant. This role involves working with powdered chemicals used in the polymer making process, particularly in plastics and waste water treatment plants. The position requires the ability to work at elevated heights and involves consistent movement across four levels of the facility.

Responsibilities

Operate plant machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.

Open and close valves, monitor instrumentation panels, and report findings from gauges.

Dump 10-kilo bags into containers and perform basic math to track and monitor plant data.

Climb ladders and operate forklifts as necessary.

Perform manual duties including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Stay current on operating procedures, safety policies, and emergency procedures.

Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.

Use forklifts, industrial scales, power tools, and hand tools to maintain equipment.

Troubleshoot minor maintenance defects and perform minor electrical tasks.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in machine operation and mechanical equipment handling.

Experience in process manufacturing.

Ability to perform chemical or batch mixing.

Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chesterfield, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00 / hr.
