Job Duties
Working in DPOR's Information Systems department, this position will be responsible for :
- Functioning as an advanced-level Applications Developer responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining enterprise solutions using Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365 in support of DPOR’s licensing, enforcement, and administrative functions.
- Applying a significant depth of technical knowledge and experience to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
- Exercising appropriate judgment and technical leadership in solution design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Ensuring solutions are well-documented and compliant with the Commonwealth of Virginia IT standards, security requirements, and governance practices.
- Supporting application lifecycle management, including environment strategy, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
- Leading and supporting system integrations across internal and external platforms.
- Mentoring and guiding technical staff and business users to promote effective adoption, sustainability, and long-term success of solutions.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience developing in Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365Working experience with Power Platform (Power Apps—canvas & model driven, Dataverse, Power Automate, Power Pages).Working experience with solution management (managed / unmanaged), environment variables, and reusable components.Working knowledge of SharePoint Online architecture and security fundamentals; ability to select SharePoint Lists vs. Dataverse appropriately.Working knowledge of solution architecture, data modeling, performant querying (filters, delegation, indexing), and API integration.Working knowledge of custom components, reusability patterns, and custom connectors; basic HTML / CSS / JavaScript for UI customizations.CI / CD awareness (Power Platform Pipelines / GitHub), unit testing, and test automationDemonstrated experience working in a Microsoft GCC tenant.Experience with Dynamics 365 Customer ServiceProficiency with custom connectors, Azure Functions, and API integrations.Knowledge of role-based security configuration in Power Platform and D365.Experience with data migration toolsFamiliarity with DevOps tools for Power Platform (e.g., GitHub).Experience with security, governance, and environment strategy (DLP, role-based security, least privilege, external federation for Power Pages)Experience with Agile delivery, backlog refinement, and stakeholder communicationStrong communication, problem-solving, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skillsExperience in effectively mentoring and training othersAdditional Considerations
