A Home Care Aide (HCA) provides non-medical care and support to clients in their homes, including assistance with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, and grooming; meal preparation and light housekeeping; companionship; transportation to appointments; and monitoring the client's health. HCAs help clients, often the elderly or those with disabilities, maintain their independence and quality of life in familiar surroundings by providing both physical assistance and emotional support.

Key Responsibilities

• Personal Care : Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and using the toilet.
• Household Tasks : Performing light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and grocery shopping.
• Meal Support : Planning, preparing, and serving meals, and monitoring dietary needs.
• Health Monitoring : Observing and documenting vital signs, recording intake and output, and reminding clients to take medication.
• Companionship : Providing emotional support, social interaction, and engaging clients in their community.
• Errands and Transportation : Driving clients to doctor's appointments and running errands.
• Communication : Reporting changes in a client's condition to supervisors or nurses and maintaining health records.
• Assistance with Mobility : Helping clients use mobility aids, such as canes or walkers, and assisting with repositioning.
• Essential Qualities Empathy and Compassion : The ability to connect with and care for clients with patience and understanding.
• Observation Skills : Noticing subtle changes in a client's physical or mental condition.
• Reliability : Being dependable and punctual for scheduled visits.
• Communication Skills : Effectively reporting information to supervisors and family members.
• Patience : Demonstrating understanding and kindness when assisting clients with tasks.

Requirements :

Must clear a background check

Must have Drivers License

Must pass CPR / AED / First Aide Training

At least 18yrs of age
