SUMMARY :
The Finance Department is crucial to the success of the casino, ensuring that revenue and expenses are properly recorded, and compliance standards are followed. The Accounting Manager is responsible to oversee the accounting department day to day activities, including oversight of both our accounting team and our audit team. The Accounting Manager will manage, direct and review the work of the accountants and auditors. They will be responsible for maintaining all records that are used by all departments to perform required financial procedures. They must be able to manage their team to ensure compliance with internal controls relating to casino floor / Cage transactions, gaming, and nongaming revenue. Responsible for assisting the Controller with the month end close process for the Casino.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for assisting and managing the month-end General Ledger closing process to ensure financial statements are accurate and thorough.
- Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
- Complete timely and accurate Balance Sheet reconciliations monthly.
- Produces monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and ad hoc financial reports.
- Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining an elevated level of accuracy.
- Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
- Maintain organized set of detailed records and files to document financial transactions.
- Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Motivate and engage team to achieve top level effort.
- Work closely with department managers to ensure they have a thorough understanding of their expenses and general accounting procedures.
- Assist in the management of capital expenditures for both small- and large-scale projects.
- Communicate and coordinate reconciliation activities with other departments.
- Collect and organize daily paperwork and assure cage transmittal forms are correctly completed.
- Reconcile banking activity and trace accuracy of all Cage and casino transactions.
- Prepare and print recap reports on all gaming activity including customized reports.
- Record Drop / Pay out as they relate to Casino activity.
- Confirm accuracy of transactions, including bank deposits, hard count, soft count, and vault activity.
- Assist with reconciliation between general ledger and Cage and Vault, and nongaming revenue.
- Prepare and print month End reports on all profit center.
- Compliance with Casino Internal control policies and procedures as they pertain to this position.
- Maintain confidentiality of all casino operations data.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Three years accounting and records management experience in a Casino including one-year supervisory experience; or equivalent experience.Experience in the operation of PC's and associated software. Must be proficient in Microsoft applications.Knowledge of financial software systems.Ability to interpret data and evaluate application of internal controls.Must have excellent interpersonal, analytical, and research experience to perform audits or large and small scale projects.Strong leadership and people management skills required with good motivational and collaboration emphasis; communicates change effectively, overcomes resistance and build commitment. Demonstrated ability to solve problems while exhibiting sound judgment.Ability to delegate, multi-task, lead and prioritize effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with demonstrated organizational and time management skills.EDUCATION :
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS :
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, background investigation, and maintain a Pauma Gaming Commission License.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
Work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment.Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.This role will require occasional movement throughout the property.The person in this role frequently communicates with others that may have questions, they must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.May be exposed to casino related environmental factors including, but not limited to, secondhand smoke, excessive noise and exposure to general public.NATIVE AMERICAN PREFERENCE STATEMENT
