Position Overview seeking an experienced AS400 Administrator to provide full end-to-end administration, system maintenance, and operational support for the IBM iSeries / AS400 environment. This role requires strong expertise in AS400 system configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, security administration, and backup / restore processes.

The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, ensure overall system stability, and support mission-critical operations in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform day-to-day administration of AS400 / iSeries systems

Manage system configuration, installation, upgrades, and patching

Monitor system performance and perform tuning to ensure optimal efficiency

Troubleshoot hardware, software, and system-level issues

Support job scheduling, batch processing, and system automation

Manage user access, security setup, roles, and permissions

Perform backups, restores, disaster recovery testing, and data replication

Coordinate with internal teams for system enhancements and operational support

Maintain system documentation, logs, and audit compliance

Provide 24 / 7 on-call support as required

Ensure high availability and reliability across AS400 systems

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of hands-on AS400 / iSeries Administration experience

Strong expertise with system operations, performance tuning, and troubleshooting

Experience with AS400 security, user administration, and audit controls

Proficiency in backup / restore processes and disaster recovery planning

Knowledge of job scheduling tools (Robot Scheduler, Control-M, or similar)

Familiarity with CL programming and command-line operations

Ability to manage upgrades, patches, and system migrations

Excellent communication and remote collaboration skills

Ability to start immediately

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting AS400 in enterprise environments

Knowledge of Power Systems hardware

Understanding of DB2 on AS400

Experience working in regulated industry environments
