Your Role and Responsibilities

• Conducting thorough patient assessments, ordering diagnostic tests, and crafting individualized care strategies
• Diagnosing and treating both acute and chronic conditions, either independently or in collaboration with other physicians (depending on your credentials)
• Educating patients and their families about preventive care, wellness, and effective disease management
• Prescribing medication and therapies in line with established practice guidelines
• Following up with patients for ongoing care and managing chronic conditions
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive and holistic patient care
• Accurately documenting all patient interactions within electronic medical records (EMR)

Required Education

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Necessary Certifications

• Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in Iowa
• National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or equivalent specialty certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or capability to obtain within 90 days)
