Controller
I'm partnered exclusively with the CFO at a multi-million dollar, privately held manufacturing company located in Lake Zurich, IL. The organization is recognized for its strong growth, financial stability, and commitment to quality. This client is in huge growth mode and is now seeking a Controller to join their organization and have ownership over the business from an Accounting & Finance standpoint.
Reporting directly into the CEO and COO, the Controller will have full ownership of the accounting and finance function, while leading 1 other individual. You will also drive key process improvements to create efficiencies within the organization involving month-end, forecasting / budgeting, system implementations, and more.
Controller Responsibilities
Lead month-end close, general ledger management, AP / AR, and payroll oversight
Oversee manufacturing cost accounting and inventory valuation
Implement and optimize ERP systems (Epicor preferred)
Transition from cash-based to accrual accounting
Develop FP&A processes : forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and analysis
Maintain internal controls and drive process improvements
Supervise accounting staff and collaborate cross-functionally

The Successful Applicant
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Proven experience as a Controller
Strong cost and manufacturing experience
Management experience
System implementation experience
Strong knowledge of financial principles, GAAP, and regulatory requirements
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
Ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to stakeholders at all levels
Exceptional leadership abilities and a track record of building and managing high-performing teams
