Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Springfield, Oregon. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial processes and ensuring accuracy in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. This position requires strong organizational skills and expertise in accounting functions, particularly within a non-profit environment.

Responsibilities :

• Oversee accounts payable and ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Manage accounts receivable by monitoring incoming payments and addressing discrepancies.
• Prepare and issue accurate invoices, including those related to government grants.
• Perform account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy and resolve any inconsistencies.
• Support audit preparation by organizing financial records and documentation.
• Utilize Sage Intacct software to manage and track accounting activities.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Assist in maintaining accurate records of billing functions and related transactions.
• Contribute to the improvement of accounting processes and workflows. Requirements
• Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Strong knowledge of billing functions and account reconciliation.
• Proficiency using Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.
• Familiarity with non-profit accounting principles and practices.
• Ability to prepare for audits and manage financial documentation effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
