1-2 year plus assignment

Candidate will be responsible for performing Civil Engineering and Structural Engineering design reviews for Substation sites.

Project Engineer responsible engineer for projects related to Substation Sites and Equipment :

Preferred experience is : Bachelor's in civil / Structural Engineering, 10 to 15 years' experience in engineering and electrical utility projects. STAAD experience.

Civil site work, storm water, Steel, Concrete, Foundations, Transformers, reactors, breakers and other electric devices design / analysis / revision and coordination with outsourcing engineering firms inside the substations.

Transmission Tower projects coordination in design and / or analysis.

Battery BESS replacement projects including floor analysis to withstand new battery system and other equipment as needed.

Coordination and revisions in projects such as substation roadways, storm water management including channels and culverts, to remediate failure due to the climate conditions or age of the element inside / outside the substation property.

Support in revisions and coordination with outsourcing engineering firms regarding the design and analysis of new and / or existing substation building projects.

Office work with some local travel to visit work sites as needed within the local DC, MD, VA area.

Working w / internal teams and outside EOCs on Substation site upgrades : Breaker replacement projects, transformer replacement projects, storm-water projects, oil containment projects.

Civil work experience, drainage experience, site design and site development experience.

5 plus years' experience.

Bachelor's in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering; PE certification is plus, but not required.

Electric Utility experience preferred.

Staad, MathCad, LPile nice to have.

Review work performed by 3rd party. Function as liaison between outside Engineering companies and Provide detail design directions to A.E companies.

Review and approve permits drawings and construction drawings and assure that all engineering standards, construction standards and safety codes are met. Provide support to construction group during construction phase of the project to assure timely completion of project within defined scope.
