Job Overview

The Senior Prevention, Education and Outreach Coordinator facilitates, coordinates, implements, develops and evaluates prevention and community based outreach programs at Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO). The Senior Coordinator provides complex programming coordination, including coordinating with the relevant community partners. The Senior Coordinator also provides training to external and internal partners and in collaboration with Prevention, Education, and Outreach Strategists, developments and designs of programming. The Senior Coordinator mentors and helps to develop the skills and knowledge of other Prevention, Education, and Outreach Coordinators.

This role is new and expected to develop and coordinate the next iteration of our adaptive child restraint program systemwide (four licensed hospitals). Priorities will include :

  • Partner with internal departments and teams to design the program. Related duties may include : help facilitate the upcoming process improvement project, procure and oversee adaptive seat inventory, loaner agreements, documentation, cleaning, returns, recalls, and other compliance practices.
  • Partner with unit leaders to plan their unit-specific needs. Including the identification of clinical team members for traditional and adaptive car seat training.
  • Coordinate and / or provide training and credentialing for identified team members.
  • Coordinate continuing education and mentorship opportunities to support recertification and improve subject matter expertise of certified team members.
  • Provide ongoing technical expertise to trained team members who will educate caregivers in clinic and inpatient settings.
  • Provide interim and episodic direct support.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Coordinates complex program specific outreach and events and maintains program branding materials including brochures and websites.

Analyzes data on a regular basis to guide and communicate work; grant management, including data reporting. D etermines quantitative and qualitative data and information required for assessing the health of a community, integrates findings into organizational plans and operations.

Develops and implements population health programs and policies based on community benefit strategic plan, including activities designed to improve health, safety and family education or empowerment.

Uses evaluation results to improve program performance; develops program performance standards and measures.

Determines community health status and factors influencing health in a community.

Develops CHCO population health goals and objectives; monitors implementation of CHCO population health strategies ; selects options for policies, programs, and services for further exploration.

Evaluates approaches for disseminating public health data and information, evaluates strategies for communicating information to influence behavior and improve health.

Describes the diversity of individuals and populations in a community. Advocates for the diversity of individuals and populations being addressed in policies, programs, and services that affect the health of a community.

Engages community members to improve health in a community; uses community input for developing, implementing, evaluating, and improving policies, programs, and services; advocates for policies, programs, and resources that improve health in a community.

P erforms lead duties for other Coordinators which include, but are not limited to, coaching, training, monitoring, assisting with goal setting, and managing the flow of day-to-day operations.

Develops program budgets; prepares proposals for funding; manages programs within current and projected budgets.

Operates as a subject matter expert, whose expertise is relied on by peers, leadership, and community partners.

Participates in local, state, regional and national efforts related to issues identified by the CHCO community needs assessment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degrees
  • Bachelor's degree in community relations, business, education or related field.

  • Experience
  • Five years of experience coordinating and implementing prevention and education initiatives that help address social determinants of health.

  • Preferred qualifications : CPST, STAC or experience with adaptive travel needs, work experience in healthcare setting
  • Equivalency
  • Professional experience, beyond requirements, in a related field may substitute for a Bachelor degree requirement on a year for year basis.

    Salary Information

    Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

    Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week) : $66,083.89 to $99,125.84
