Job Description :

The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of Florida ( www.languages.ufl.edu ), College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for the position of Lecturer / Assistant Instructional Professor in Russian Language and Culture, to begin August 15, 2026. This is a full-time, renewable, nine-month, non-tenure accruing position.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to a robust program in Foreign Languages and Literatures by performing the following duties : 1) teach three (3) undergraduate language classes per semester at the beginning and intermediate levels (other language levels if necessary); 2) contribute to the development and growth of the Russian Studies program, including through language-related extracurricular activities, study abroad, and potential online course development; and 3) provide service to the Russian Studies program, the department, and the university.

Required Qualifications :

M.A. degree in Russian, Russian Language Pedagogy, Russian Linguistics, or related field. Native or near-native proficiency in Russian and English with experience teaching Russian language at the college / university level.

Preferred :

PhD degree in Russian language and culture or related field. US college / university-level teaching experience.
