PediatricPerinatal Surveillance Coordinator

Job Overview :

This full-time position is in the Philadelphia Department of Public Health Division of HIV Health HIV Surveillance Unit. This position will report to the HIV Program Manager.

Employees in the HIV Disease specialty are responsible for reviewing case information concerning the incidence of HIV / AIDS related syndromes in Philadelphia County. Contact with public and private health care providers registries laboratories and the general public to collect information and ensure accurate reporting of data is a significant aspect of the work.

Responsibilities :

• Complete pediatric HIV / AIDS Surveillance Case Report forms on all pediatric HIV cases (children
• Complete Adult Case report forms as needed.
• Complete medical record abstractions for selected cases for the Fetal Infant Mortality Review process for HIV (FIMR-HIV).
• Complete interviews of women living with HIV for the Fetal Infant Mortality Review process for HIV.
• Track perinatally exposed infants to ensure proper disposition.
• Track pediatric laboratory test results to ensure appropriate follow-up investigation.
• Track the number of HIV infected infants and ensure Enhanced Perinatal Surveillance Forms are completed in the appropriate time frame.
• Assist in monitoring and evaluation of pediatric / perinatal HIV surveillance field activities.
• Summarize FIMR-HIV medical record abstractions and interviews for monthly case review team meetings.
• Attend monthly FIMR-HIV case review team meetings.

Skills :

Experience and Education Requirements :

A medical or nursing degree is strongly preferred along with a minimum of 1 year of experience as described below OR a Masters in Public Health with 2 years of experience as described below :
