Wilson Health is looking for a direct hire Emergency Department Health Unit Coordinator / Patient Care Technician for our location in Sidney, Ohio (North Dayton, Ohio) area.

Position Reports to : Emergency Department Nurse Manager

Department Description : Wilson Health's Emergency Department is a 14 cardiac monitored beds. The Emergency Department at Wilson Health has received national recognition for exceptionally quick treat release times for patients.

Job Summary : The Emergency Department Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) prepares and compiles records in nursing unit of hospital facility and provides essential patient care under direction of Registered Nurse.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the computer entry of patient information / registration and physician orders to ensure continuity of care.
  • Assist with the coordination of activities of the unit and ensures the necessary supplies are available to provide patient care.
  • Assure opens and timely communication with the patient, their significant others and team members to ensure the occurrence of therapeutic interventions.
  • Under direction of the RN / LPN, assists in meeting the physical and emotional needs of the patient on his / her assigned unit. The patient population would include : the young-middle aged adult patient, and the geriatric patient.
  • Under the direction of the RN / LPN, carry out assigned treatments and procedures.
  • The HUC / PCT shall provide care based on ethical concepts, respect for life, dignity, human worth and the individuality of human beings.

    • Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Successfully completed an approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program; or three to six months related hospital experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Hospital PCT experience / EMT experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support
