Setting : Surgery Center

Schedule : Monday–Friday, 5x8s

No call, no holidays, no weekends

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Position : Certified Surgical First Assistant (Contract)

Facility Rating : 5-Star

Job Summary

The Surgical First Assistant supports the surgeon during all phases of preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care. Responsibilities include assisting with exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other technical tasks to ensure safe and efficient surgical outcomes. This position has no supervisory responsibilities and reports to the OR nursing team and Clinical Director.

Education & Training

  • High school diploma or GED
  • CPR certification
  • Previous First Assist experience or at least one year of Scrub Tech experience

    • Preferred Experience

  • CSFA, CSA, or SA-C certification
  • Prior experience working in an ASC

    • Qualifications

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Professional and collaborative interaction with physicians, staff, patients, and families
