Project Engineer – Heavy Civil / Public Works

Riverside County, CA

Are you looking to build a meaningful career in heavy civil construction? I’m working with a well-established and growing contractor in the Riverside County area that specializes in public works, infrastructure, and heavy highway projects—including bridges, flood control, and roadway improvements.

We’re looking for a Project Engineer who wants to grow with a team that values integrity, craftsmanship, and long-term development.

What You’ll Do

Review plans, drawings, and specifications to support field operations

Draft and submit RFIs, manage submittals, and track documentation

Coordinate weekly materials, concrete orders, compaction tests, and lane closures

Track quantities and daily production for self-perform and subcontractor work

Submit pay estimates, material logs, and forecasts each month

Assist with field layout, logistics, and crew support

Attend internal and external meetings and capture action items

What We’re Looking For

1–4 years of experience in heavy civil construction (internships or co-ops count!)

Strong interest in public works : bridges, roadways, grading, drainage, utilities

Comfortable in both field and office environments

Familiarity with Caltrans or municipal specs is a big plus

Engineering degree or construction-related background preferred
