Robert Half is partnering with a leading Baton Rouge insurance company in search of a dynamic Accounting Manager. This role involves overseeing critical accounting operations and financial reporting, contributing to financial management, supervising and developing team members and collaborating directly with the senior leadership. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and a solid foundation in accounting practices to support the company’s continued success.

Responsibilities :

• Manage the month-end closing process, including the preparation of journal entries and accruals.
• Oversee general ledger activities and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements to support strategic decision-making.
• Conduct account reconciliations and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Lead cash management operations and monitor cash flow effectively.
• Supervise accounts payable processes and ensure timely payments.
• Collaborate with the Controller on operational initiatives and process improvements.
• Provide guidance and support to the accounting and administrative team.
• Utilize accounting systems such as Workday Financials, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or similar platforms.
• Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, either in public accounting or industry.
• Knowledge of cash management, general ledger, month-end close, accounts payable, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Previous experience in supervising or leading a team is preferred.
• Familiarity with accounting systems such as Workday Financials, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or similar platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis.
• Ability to manage day-to-day accounting functions while working closely with the team.
