Energy Assistance Worker - Bradford County Assistance Office

The Office of Income Maintenance is seeking hardworking and detail-oriented people to provide seasonal help to the staff of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) at the Bradford County Assistance Office. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be processing initial benefit applications as well as CRISIS applications for LIHEAP. This is a full-time, seasonal position that typically runs for 6 to 8 months during the fall and winter seasons to assist clients in the process of applying for heating assistance. After receiving on-the-job training, you will be performing various duties such as interviewing clients, acting as a liaison with heating vendors, and reviewing applications received to recommend approval or disapproval of benefits consistent with federal and state regulations. The majority of work is completed through data entry. Work assignments are limited in scope and performed under close supervision of an Income Maintenance Casework Supervisor who reviews work for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to the program regulations. You may perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

• Seasonal full-time employment
• Work hours are 8 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
• Overtime and travel as needed
• Work Conditions : Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
• Telework : This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Towanda. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
